In July 2026, [Prof. LI Mengying](https://www.polyu.edu.hk/me/people/academic-teaching-staff/li-mengying-prof/) is promoted to Associate Professor (tenured) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This marks a very important milestone in both her professional and personal life, and Prof. Li would like to share a few words on this occasion.
I am delighted to share an exciting personal and professional milestone—today marks the publication of the 50th research paper that I co-authored. This achievement reflects more than 10 years of dedication and collaboration in advancing the renewable energy field.
In December 2024, a project that [Prof. LI Mengying](https://www.li-realab.info/authors/limengying/) participated won First Prize in 2024 Science and Technology Award, conferred by China Renewable Energy Society. Congratulations!
In July 2021, Prof. Li was invited to serve as Associate Editor of [Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy](https://aip.scitation.org/journal/rse), an AIP journal.
In October 2020, [Prof. LI Mengying](https://www.polyu.edu.hk/me/people/academic-teaching-staff/li-mengying-prof/) started as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with 1 million HKD start-up fund. She will develop an interdisciplinary research program that prompts the utilization of renewable energy resouces especially solar energy.
